Happy New Year! I hope that everyone reading this had a wonderful and fulfilling holiday season! I started out this year by adding a new laser to my shop, the Aeon Mira 7, and it is a beautiful machine. This 60W laser allows me to do more than i could with the old diode laser. One of the first things I did was upgrade the templates I had listed in MDF and add a clear acrylic option. It is a much better looking design and is far more professional in my opinion. I also added a design that has been in my head for a while - a Cutting Board Foot Placement jig. I know that when i do serving trays or cutting boards that i put feet on I like to measure and ahve them be the same place on all corners, so thats why i made this one. It is clear acrylic and allows you to drill mounting holes at distances from 0.5" to 1.75" in from the corner so all of the holes are exactly the same. LIke most of my materials it is selling with free shipping.
I have also partnered with MicroJig - they have approved my benchtopper as an official MatchFit piece so i will be able to design and maybe even sell some more items to go with this piece. I'm really excited about this partnership because it not only allows me to continue selling the BenchTopper (apparently the grid system falls within their IP) but it also allows me the opportunity to help come up with other ideas for their line. This also means that soon I will be able to sell the MicroJig line from my website so you will be able to purchase clamps from them at the same time you buy the jigs!
Last - I have a few pieces I am hoping to come out with soon. One of those is a portable router table like I have been selling that will be able to use a full sized router! It will use 3/8" acrylic instead of the 1/4" I use for the trim router. It will have the same footprint as the smaller version, but I have included clamp spaces to allow you to clamp the table to your work bench along the long side to give yourself a larger work area if needed.
Happy New Years to you all! Welcome to 2025!
